Groundsman/Track Assistant

About the role:

Working as part of a team to deliver safe greyhound racing in a friendly environment. Ensuring GBGB and local rules of racing are followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and presenting the racing surface. Ensuring the safety of greyhounds, staff and trainers.

  • Maintenance of plant & machinery.

 

Essential Skills:

  • Team working

  • Working to deadlines

  • Comfortable working outside in all weathers

  • Comfortable working with dogs

  • Reliable

  • Trustworthy

 

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Tractor driving (training can be provided)

  • Previous experience in a similar role.

  • Qualification in Animal Welfare (desirable not essential)

 

Working Hours:

  • Saturday 06.00-11.00

 

All relevant training will be provided.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: £10.50-£12.50 per hour depending on experience

Kitchen Hand/Cook

About the role:

Cooking food made to order with food hygiene standards being followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with the use of electrical equipment in the kitchen and observe safety precautions when using them.

  • Prepare menu items whilst maintaining portion control and minimising wastage

  • Ensure customer orders are fulfilled.

  • Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards at all times.

  • Clean and maintain all equipment within the kitchen area.

  • Report any hazards, unsafe working conditions or equipment which requires repair or maintenance to a supervisor.

 

Competencies

  • Ability to work effectively and contribute to a team

  • Self-motivated

  • Reliable

  • Good communication skills

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience/working in a similar role

  • Food Hygiene

  • Oral proficiency in English language

 

Working Hours:

  • Wednesday 16:30-21:00

 

All relevant training will be provided.
